Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Your Internet Service Work? What is Line of Sight?2021-05-01T13:48:49+00:00

Reynolds Media Internet works over a wireless signal, much like the Wi-Fi in your home.  At your location a small radio much like a satellite dish is pointed to our towers located on either Boat Mountain, Compton Mountain, or on Pilots Knob in Harrison.  If you are in the Mountain Home area our towers are located on Crystal Mountain behind the hospital and on the city water tower across from Tucker Cemetery Road in Gassville.  The radio at your location connects to one of our towers and delivers wireless internet to you.  Because this is a wireless solution, your radio will need to be able to see or have a clear “line of sight” to one of our tower sites.  If you aren’t sure, if you can see one of the towers, please feel free to Contact Us and we will do a free site analysis for you.

The below picture demonstrates, what a clear “line of sight” means.  On this picture, you will see a tower on the mountain / hill side just to the right of the two tall trees.  Since there are no obstructions in the way, we can provide this location with our internet services.

What Plan Should I Sign Up For?2021-05-01T13:50:41+00:00

The plan you sign up for just depends on what you will be using your internet for.  We suggest basic web browsing and watching Netflix, Hulu, Disney or other video services in SD (standard definition) on one device will be fine for a 5 Mbps Plan.  If you have more than one TV or device you will be watching video services from we recommend 10 Mbps Plan.  For those that play online games and want the highest resolution in HD on video services, we recommend the 15  or 25 Mbps Plan.

Can you explain the installation costs? Do I own the equipment after install?2021-05-01T13:59:32+00:00

Installation costs will vary based on how far away your location is from one of our towers.  The farther away, the more expensive the equipment is to install at your location.  Below are the installation costs

$150 (Basic Installation) up to 4 miles from our Broadband Tower
$200 (Basic Installation) 5-10 miles from our Broadband Tower
$300 (Basic Installation) 11-14 miles from our Broadband Tower

We also provide wireless routers for those that do not have one currently.  We provide two different options for routers.  One with a single band (2.4 ghz) and one with a dual band (2.4 ghs & 5.8 ghz).  The single band routers are $35 where as the dual band are $80.  We can also rent the routers to you for a small fee per month if you prefer to not purchase them from us.

You own the equipment after paying for the installation.
